Why Regenified

The Value of Certification

We are here for the farmers, ranchers, and brands doing the work to steward the soil, protect ecosystems, and make agriculture better for the next generation. We believe they should be recognized, rewarded, and emulated.

Our certification provides evidence to help them compete and grow in the marketplace, aligns the regenerative movement with transparent and meaningful standards, and sows seeds of transformational change to scale the compounding benefits of farming in sync with nature.

Integrity, Accountability, & Recognition

Regenified was founded by farmers to help ensure the soil health movement stands for integrity, accountability, and the empowerment of regenerative agriculture producers across the global supply chain.

Our core purpose is to help farmers start, track, and advance their regenerative practices, all while gaining recognition in the marketplace as trusted sources to serve rising demand for healthier products and farming practices. The community we are building together is committed to creating a better quality of life for farmers today and a legacy of restoring ecosystems and the nutrient density in our food supply chains.

Founded by Farmers, For Farmers

Regenified was established by pioneering farmers and soil health experts Gabe Brown, Dr. Allen Williams, and Doug Peterson to uphold the integrity of the regenerative movement and help farmers and brands prosper in the regenerative marketplace.

Guiding Farmers on Their Journey

From experience, we know it’s not about where you start, it’s where you’re going and what you’re doing. All are welcome to join who are ready to commit to meaningful and continuous improvement to drive soil health outcomes.

Verifying What’s Real

We differentiate verified regenerative claims from unsubstantiated ones, ensuring that consumers and buyers can trust products from Certified Regenified farmers and brands with confidence.

Connecting the Supply Chain

We bring together brands, processors, and retailers to scale certified regenerative crops and pastured proteins while educating consumers on why this is critical for the future of agriculture and our planet.

Recognized & Approved

The Certified Regenified™ seal and product claim is the first and only 3rd party regenerative program to be recognized and accepted by USDA Food Safety and Inspection Services for single and multi-ingredient products. Regenified is also the first and only regenerative certifier to be approved by the USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) through the AMS Process Verified Program.

Who founded Regenified and when?

Regenified was cofounded by Gabe Brown, Alan Williams, and Doug Peterson in 2022. Gabe Brown is a pioneering farmer in the soil health movement. His widely-read book, ‘“Dirt to Soil: A Family’s Journey into Regenerative Agriculture” chronicles how he turned around his 5,000 acre farm and ranch near Bismarck, North Dakota through soil health principles since the 1990s. Gabe was inducted into the North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2025. Dr. Alan Williams is a sixth generation farmer, ag research scientist, and tireless champion for regenerative agriculture around the world. He is a reknowned expert in adaptive grazing models, humane animal husbandry, and environmental stewardship and earned a Ph.D. in Animal Genetics and Physiology from Lousiana State University. Doug Peterson is a highly respected soil scientist and Missouri farmer who spent 32 years at the NRCS educating thousands of row crop and livestock producers on soil health practices and regenerative agriculture’s impact on natural resource processes as a District Conservationist, State Grassland Conservationist, State Soil Health Specialist, and Regional Soil Specialist. Doug’s agronomic expertise and hands-on experience working with farmers across the nation has made him a trusted voice and teacher in the regenerative movement.

What does Regenified aspire to do?

Our goal is to change the way people farm at scale to reverse longstanding degenerative agricultural trends such as the loss of arable land, broken water cycles, unworkable farming economics, and the diminishing nutritive value of crops and animal products. Regenerative agriculture is the solution for these problems—farming in synchrony with nature through the 6 principles of soil health, the 3 rules of adaptive stewardship, and the 4 ecosystem processes. Our mission is to transition the world’s supply chain to regenerative agriculture by:

  • Recognizing farmers and ranchers for their practices and the positive impact they have for our planet
  • Certifying products and validating supply chains to bring transparency to the food system
  • Enabling brands to connect with regenerative growers and find shelf space with retailers for Certified Regenified products
  • Creating trust for consumers—that a product that bears the Regenified mark was grown using regenerative practices to create positive ecological outcomes
Do consumers really care about regenerative agriculture?

Consumer awareness of regenerative agriculture has grown steadily in the last five years. Regenified conducted an in-depth study on their values and behavior, finding that 56% of Values-Based Shoppers and 89% of the Emerging Regenerative Market will pay a premium for regenerative products, if they can find them. Does Regenified provide nutrient density testing?

Nutrient density testing is available through strategic partnership with labs at Utah State College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.
